And so the season has really ended. This is the fourth and final part of my 2012-13 retrospective and my third article of the day. Thank you if you have been reading all of these, there may be one or two more to come. For the other parts look at;
I’ll try to stick to pictures for this one
Celtic
I’ve no complaints about the choice of best eleven for last season.
Juarez has been added to the overall best eleven starting line-up (replacing Matthews) while Viatri and Vilar get on the bench. The other awards were;
- Top Goalscorer: Hooper (19)
- Highest Average Rating: Charlie Mulgrew (7.41)
- Fans Player of the Year: Charlie Mulgrew
Scotland
Click on this link for a bigger picture. I’ve highlighted the Celtic awards;
- SPL Winners: Celtic
- SPL Top Goalscorer: Gary Hooper (16)
- Worst Signing of the Season (!): Scott Allan (£975k) – this seems harsh
- League Cup Winners: Celtic
- UEFA Champions League Champions Third Qualifying Round: Celtic
- PFA Players Player of the Year: Gary Hooper
- Scottish Top Goalscorer: Gary Hooper
- Player of the Year: Scott Brown
- Young Player of the Season: James Forrest
- SPL Manager of the Year: celticman!
- Writers Manager of the Year: celticman!
Only 3 Celtic players in this!
Europe
Ukrainian team Shakhtar won the Champions League.
While both Celtic and Rangers made it to the First Knockout Round (not shown here), it was Chelsea who were victorious.
- Champions League Best Player: Lionel Messi
- Champions League Golden Boot: Lionel Messi
Who else eh?
Others
Lets look at some other competitions around the world.
Man United win the English Premier League while Bolton, Newcastle and Crystal Palace are relegated.
A.C Milan win Serie A. How did Cagliari end up 2nd?
Real Madrid managed to keep Barcelona at bay.
Lyon, a team swiftly looking like one of Europe’s very best, won the French League.
Despite Shakhtar’s European success it was Dnipro who took the title.
If you want to see any more please ask.
Reputations
The Scottish Premier League gained 14 places this year, up to 16th, and has even increased in reputation from 2.5 to 3 stars!
However Celtic fell to 60th in Europe. Hopefully this is our inflection point as in the poor European performances of recent seasons will no longer count against our co-efficient. Click on this link for a bigger picture.
I think it is the standing of our clubs which adversely affected our European places. We will now only have one Champions League place.
Thank you all for reading!
Good Post showing all the competitions, Lets hope the SPL reputation can keep increasing. Enjoyed reading the last few posts keep up the good work

Thanks. I add a few extra competition as some folks wanted to see what had happened around the Football Manager game world.
I also hope the SPLs reputation continues to rise. However for this to happen, I need to hope that Rangers and any other SPL club who gets into Europe performs well. Unforuntately I don’t see me being allowed to take them on as Feeders clubs where I could loan them my fringe players though.
